• Middle Provo
The middle has been consistently fishing well. The green drakes are still around and coming off around noon. P.M.D.'s are also coming, starting earlier around 9 A.M. If you stick around until evening time look for caddis coming off. • Lower Provo
The P.M.D.'s are out and fishing well, plan on the hatch happening around 9 o' clock to midday. The fish will rise to dries but nymph fishing will still produce a good amount of fish, try a Barr's P.M.D. emerger or split case P.M.D. The evening caddis are starting to show up. • Weber River
the flows are up, and fishing has been decent. Sow bugs, san juan worms, or a hares ear nymph are all good fly options at this time. Look for P.M.D.'s earlier on in the day, and caddis in the evening time. The dry fly action has not been as good as the Provo but it is still fishing well. • Green River
The cicada's are starting to wind down, but the yellow sallies are beginning to come on. The caddis have been hatching around the evening and the fish are keying in on them. Terrestrial fishing could be decent try hoppers, ants, and beetles near the banks. • Strawberry Reservoir
The fish out suspended over around 35 to 40 feet of water. Trolling with frog colored flat fish, or rainbow Lucky Craft/ Rapala lures. If you're fishing from the shore try garlic scented powerbait, or a black brown or white streamer. We have been getting reports that the Kokanee have been hitting on pink jakes spin-a-lures. The Crawdads are in the shallows as well, try a raw chicken leg in a Crawdad trap or just tie it to a string and use nets. • Jordanelle
The top water bite has been on, and the bass are out in 15 to 20 feet of water for bass. Drop shot and split shot rigs are working well during the day, try tubes and grubs in watermelon, or baby bass colors. • Utah Lake
We have been getting good reports from people fishing for the catfish. Cat-fishing tends to be most productive in the evening to night time hours. The smellier the bait the better for catfish.
• Deer Creek Reservoir
The smaller bass have been spotted in the shallows, while the larger bass are out deeper. If you are looking to get into trout you will find them in about 20 to 30 feet of water. For the trout try trolling with pop gear and a worm, or a frog colored flat fish. If you want to catch the bass, try drop shotting a grub, throwing a Yamasenko, or a crankbait.• Uinta Lakes
The Uinta Lakes are a great place to go if you want to try to escape the heat. Fishing is very good, the fish are active as usual. Whether you are fishing with a spinning rod or a fly rod, a fly with a bubble will produce a good amount of fish. A red Krystal Killer or a prince nymph underneath the surface will work or if you want to fish on the surface try throwing an ant or beetle pattern, Parachute Adams, Mosquito, or Renegade. A gold Jakes Spin-A-lure with red dots is deadly throughout the high mountain lakes. You could also try some good old powerbait.

Friday June 7th 2013 Utah Fishing Report
• Strawberry Reservoir
The fish are suspended in 15 feet down in depths of 35 to 40 feet of water. Use black, brown or white streamer paterns for flies, and try Lucky Craft Pointer 78's DD model in ghost minnow, ghost rainbow, or the lazer rainbow colors.
• Lower Provo
The flows are down and fishable, tie on sow bugs, baetis nymphs, san juan worms and caddis. The P.M.D.'s (pale morning dun) shoulod be right around the corner so brind some rust colored nymphs as well.
• Middle Provo
Nymphing has been producing the most fish on the Middle. The flies to throw are either caddis, baetis, stoneflys, san juans worms, or attractor fly's. Look for some caddis dry fly action in the late evening as the sun is beginning to go down.
• Scofield Reservoir
Scofield has been fishing well, mostly smaller fish with a few bigger ones occasionally. Black or brown flies have been popular or dark colored lures. As we progress more and more into the summer we will see the fish move out to deeper water.
• Green River
Very High flows, in the neighborhood of 5700 CFS (cubic feet per second). Juju baetis, and zebra midges have been fishing well. We are also hearing good reports about cicadas and ants producing fish. If you are headed to the A section bring blue winged olives as well.
• Weber River
Stoneflys, sow bugs, baeits, and caddis are all fishing well. The fish are beginning to get more aggressive and the flows are also pretty good so now is a good time to head up and get fishing.
• Deer Creek
The fishing reports have been good from Deer Creek, the best locations have been west of the island. Use jakes-spin-a-lures, flatfish, or troll pop gear and a worm.
Tomorrow, Saturday June 8th 2013, is free fishing day in the state of Utah so get out there and take advantage of it!

MAY 31ST, 2013 FISHING REPORT
• Lower Provo
The flows have come down to a safe level, it is still a little bit high but wadeable. Try using Sow Bugs, Caddis Nymphs, Stonefly Nymphs, and San Juan Worms. You might also find success throwing some streamers at this time.
• Weber River
The Weber has been fishing pretty similar to the Provo. Try the same nymphs as you would on the Middle or Lower, such as; San Juan Worms, Tailwater Sow Bugs, Scuds, Stonefly Nymphs, and Caddis Nymphs. Dry fly fishing has been decent. An Elk Hair or E/C Caddis in an olive or brown #16 should do the trick.
• Strawberry Reservoir
The Cutthroat have moved out to deeper water. There are still some Rainbows around the shallows, for those who are fishing from the shore. The Soldier Creek side has been fishing a little better than the Strawberry side in deep water 50-60 ft. Powerbait, Marabou Jigs, Tube Jigs, and Lucky Craft Lures have all been working well. Purple streamers or leeches are also a good option.
• Green River
On the A Section, try using black or red Zebra Midges, Juju's, CDC Blue Wing Olive Emergers underneath. There have been sightings of Cicadas, so having a few in the box is a good idea as they will only increase in the next few weeks.
• Scofield Reservoir
Fishing well, mostly smaller fish. Dark colored flies and lures continue to be the most productive. The fish are starting to move out from the shores a bit, so fishing from a boat would help to target some of these deeper fish. Look for fish around steep drop-offs.
• Deer Creek
Fishing well. The best action has been west of the island. Jakes Spin-A-Lures or Powerbait are good options from the shore. We have also heard good reports from people trolling Flatfish or Pop Gear and a worm.
• Pelican
Bass and Bluegill are in the shallows, near the reeds. Look for pockets in the reeds and cast a chartreuse or purple wooley bugger in a size 10, if you want to throw topwater try very small poppers in white or black. If you want to throw gear try jigs, Senkos, or for topwater, poppers or small frogs.
• Middle Provo
The flow on the Middle has been staying pretty steady around 130 cfs. Nymph fishing has been good. San Juan Worms, Stonefly Nymphs, Baetis, and Caddis Nymphs are good options for this time of year. There are still traces of Blue Winged Olives around. It is possible to see a few fish rising to blue wings in the mid to late afternoon.

• Strawberry Reservoir
THE ICE IS OFF!! Now is the time to go up and get some fishing in. Try thowing dark colored leeches and buggers for flies. If you want to throw gear, tie on a Lucky Craft Pointer 78 in a rainbow trout color, ghosty minnow, or shell white color. Some other things working well are powerbait, tube jigs and jakes lures.
• Middle Provo
The blue winged olives are still coming off but a little bit later in the day, watch for the hatch to come off more towards the late afternoon and into the evening. Keep an eye out for the Mothers Day caddis that should be coming off now, they are currently down more towards Deer Creek but will be working their way up the river ever day.
• Lower Provo
We haven't heard much from the Lower this week but the water is way up. The river is currently running around 500 cfs, be very careful wading or crossing. The fish should be pushed up around the edges in the slower currents, try streamers, caddis nymphs, scuds, and san juan worms. You probably won't see much dry fly action with water levels as high as they are.
• Weber River
The Mothers Day hatch is here. Tie on a Pulsating caddis, or a Wired caddis, in olive color size 14. Also tie on a stonefly nymphm, golden stone color in a size 10 or 12. If you want to throw dries put on a tan or brown Elk Hair caddis in a size 14 or 16.
• Utah Lake
The walleye spawn is coming to an end for the season but that also means that the largemouth bass spawn is getting ready to begin. Use jigs, white or chartreuse spinner baits, and especially Senko's in the green pumpkin or jb special colors.
• Starvation
We are still getting good reports on the rainbow trout fishing. Powerbait has been effective in the rainbow color garlic scent or the salmon peach scent and color. If you don't want to use bait tie on a Lucky Craft lure in a Ghost Minnow color, or an olive or black tube jig. For the fly fishers tie on a dark colored leech or bugger.

• Lake Powell
The Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass are spawning and now is the time to fish for them. Cast to spawning beds. Try spinner and chatter baits, lippless crankbaits, and jerk baits in white and shad tones. Colors with chartreuse highlights in stained water work well. skirted jigs with trailers, hula grubs, and a variety of plastics in a range of colors. Translucent colors are often better in clear water. Try a brighter colored jig or bait that you can see well on the bottom to help target bedded fish. Look for Crappie on the outer edges of submerged brush or flooded trees, or suspended adjacent to flat spawning areas. Stripers and Walleye should be on main lake points and humps, trolling shad colored crank and swimbaits should produce fish.
• Strawberry Reservoir
The ice is coming off and going fast. Most edges are open and fishable from the shore. Fishing from the shore or from a pontoon boat has been good. Look for water with a little more depth to it and get as close to the ice edge as possible. Dark colored buggers and streamers are good on the fly rod. Marabou jigs and tube jigs in black or olive have been effective. Lucky Craft Pointer 78 lures in ghost rainbow or ghost minnow colors can also produce some good fish. Give us a call for the most updated report.
• Weber River
The water has recently come up on the middle stretch, but still running clear. The lower is significantly higher with a little color to it. There have been traces of Caddis in the water. Nymphing is still the best bet for producing fish. Try Sow Bugs, Surveyor nymphs, or Pulsating Caddis. A Parachute Hare's Ear on top might get a few takes as we get closer to the Mother's Day caddis hatch.
• Middle Provo
The Blue Winged Olives are starting to taper off. Fishing Blue Wing nymphs will produce more fish than Blue Wing dries will at this time, but don't hesitate to throw dries if there are still fish rising. Start gearing up more for the Mother's Day caddis hatch by throwing caddis nymphs, such as the Core Caddis, or Pulsating Caddis. A golden epoxy-back stone nymph is a good bottom fly.
• Lower Provo
The Lower is fishing very similar to the middle section. Plan on seeing caddis but not as many stoneflies.
• Starvation/Deer Creek
We have been getting good reports from both Starvation and Deer Creek for the Rainbow Trout. Powerbait has been the most effective from shore. Also try Jakes Spin-A-Lures. From a boat, try trolling pop gear and a worm or minnow baits such as Rapalas and Lucky Craft Lures.
• Green River
There have been sightings of early Cicadas. The fish probably won't be keying in on them for about another 3 weeks or so but it could be a big year for them. The water temperature coming out of the dam is warming up so the baetis are coming off on the A section. Juju's and San Juan worms underneath will produce fish. The Sprout Baetis or CDC Baetis are good options on top.
• Jordanelle
The best reports we have had are from people that are throwing suspending jerk baits such as Lucky Craft Pointer 78 SP's in rainbow trout, shad, or chub minnow colors.

• Lake Powell
It is peak time to fish for the Largemouth and Smallmouth Bass as they get ready to spawn. Try spinner and chatter baits, lippless crankbaits, and jerk baits in whte and shad tones. Colors with chartreuse highlights in stained water work well. skirted jigs with trailers, hula grubs, and a variety of plastics in a range of colors. Translucent colors are often better in clear water. Try a brighter colored jig or bait that you can see well on the bottom to help target bedded fish. Stripers and Walleye should be on main lake points and humps, trolling shad colored crank and swimbaits should produce fish.
• Strawberry Reservoir
The main lake is still frozen but some of the edges are starting to open up. Look for water with a little more depth to it, cast as close to the ice edge as possible. Throw black/brown leeches, black or white buggers, marabou jigs, swimbaits and tube jigs. Once the ice goes it will be off quick, call us for the most updated report.
• Weber River
Really good nymph action right now for Whiteys, Browns, and Cutthroat. Size 12 stonefly nmyphs, sow bugs in a size 14 or 16, and purple Psycho Princes in size 12 would all be good options to tie on your line. There are very few risers but if you want to throw a dry try a midge in sizes 18 to 22.
• Middle Provo
The river is fishing well on a variety of different bugs. The Blue Winged Olives are still coming off in sizes ranging from 18-20's, as well as Midges also in sizes 18-22. There have been a few sightings of Caddis coming off but it is still a little early, try a tan Elk Hair Caddis in size 14 or 16. We have also had some reports of a few Skwala hatching so bring some big bugs and give them a shot, size 10 yellow Stimulators should work well. As for the nymphs Blue Winged Olives, Stoneflys, Midges, and some Caddis all sizes corresponding to their dry equivalent.
• Lower Provo
The Lower hasn't changed much in the past week. Still plan on throwing a majority of Blue Winged Olives and Midges in both dry and nymph form depending on your prefered method. If you want to change things up a bit throw on a Stonefly nymph or a Sow bug.
• Starvation/Rockport
We have been getting good reports from Starvation for both the trout and bass. We have also been getting reports of people getting into trout at Rockport. On both bodies of water the reports have been powerbait, the salmon egg scent in particular, to target the trout. You could also throw dark colored tube jigs, or even some suspending crankpaits. If you are looking to target the bass at Starvation try a deep diving crankbait in a shad or trout color over some deeper water.
• Green River
The flows on the Green have been low an steady, not much fluctuation. Blue Wings and streamers have been fishing well. Try the Cheech Leech, or a Granato's Chubby Muffin in the brown trout color.
• Scofield Reservoir
The lake is opeing up and now is the time to go hit it. Fish should be hitting on dark colored streamers such as a black leech or a brown bugger. If you want to throw gear tie on a dark tube jig or a rainbow or shad colored Lucky Craft Pointer 78. Powerbait in the salmon egg scent has also been a good option if you want to just cast out some bait and relax while you wait for a hit.

• Utah Lake
The walleye are spawning at both Utah Lake and Willard Bay, throw into rocky structure near the inlets. The bait of choice is curly tail jigs in the wally world or june bug colors. Rapala Husky Jerks or Lucky Craft lures are also working well.
• Middle Provo River
Great dry fly fishing between noon and four P.M. The blue winged olives are hatching, and fish are feeding on them regularly, try throwing the Blue Ribbon Cripple in a size 18 or a sparkle dun. Midges are still around and fishing well. For nymphing, blue winged olive nymphs and emergers are working well in size 18. The Pocket Water Baetis and BTS Baetis in #18-20 are some good options. With the snow melting and the water levels rising a San Juan Worm is a good anchor fly.
• Lower Provo River
Good fishing with both nymphs and dries. In the morning try throwing some Juju Baetis and Barr's Blue Wing emergers in #18-20. In the afternoon to evening the blue winged olives have been hatching and fish have been feeding on top. For dries, the Blue Winged Olive Vis-A-Dun in #16-18 or Blue Wing Cripples are good options. Sow Bugs in a size 16 and smaller midges will still produce some good fish.
• Weber River
Fishing has been decent between the reservoirs. The water is still fairly low and fluctuating. Mainly nymphing, not much sign of dry fly fishing as of yet. Sow Bugs in #14-16, baetis nymphs, #8-10 Stonefly Nymphs, or other attractor flies such as San Juan Worms are all good patterns.
• Strawberry Reservoir
The majority of the reservoir is still frozen but there are a few edges beginning to open up. Try stripping in a black/brown leeches with a fly rod or black Marabou Jigs with a spinning rod along any open edge that you can find. Anticipate the ice coming off reasonably fast in the next week or two. Give us a call for more updated ice off reports.
• Deer Creek
Ice is off the entire reservoir and fishing well towards the Provo River inlet. Use Jakes Spin-A-Lures, garlic-scented power bait, and black tube jigs. With a fly rod, Crystal Killers, Purple or Black Buggers, or Hot Head Wooly Buggers (black with chartreuse head) have been fishing well.
• Starvation Reservoir
Good trout fishing with power bait and tube jigs. Dark colored streamers or leeches would be a good choice on the fly rod. Smallmouth fishing has been good with deep diving plugs. Try fishing Rabbit Gultch for best results.
• Green River
Really good fishing the B section with blue winged olives and small baetis or midge patterns. The A section is starting to pick up. Streamer fishing has been good on both sections with either a black or tan Peanut Envy. Try nymphing with #16-18 Zebra Midges or blue wing olive emergers.
• Scofield Reservoir
The reservoir is now ice free. Fishing from the shore has been decent. Try Red Crystal Killers or other dark colored streamers. Suspending jerk baits have been good for the tiger and cutthroat trout. Marabou jigs and tube jigs will also produce fish.
